The Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award, formerly known as the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award, is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) award given to the player who is adjudged to have played the most outstanding role in the NBA Finals. The award was first awarded in 1969 and was renamed in 2009 after 11-time NBA champion Bill Russell.
